Minraf: The MINimum Rare Allele Frequency is an arbitrary threshold for determining the "informativeness" and fitness for genotyping of a group of SNPs. The frequency of the two (most of the time) alleles at a give locus is determined. The allele with the lower frequency is named the "rare" allele. If the frequency of the rare allele in a given population is < 10%, the SNP is discarded from our analyses.
